Gold In The Cure For Cancer

Cancer occurs when abnormal cells divide without control and they invade other tissues, that is why this terrible disease can spread to other parts of the body through the blood and lymph systems. In present there are more than a hundred types of cancer and they are named for the organ or type of cell in which they start. The main categories of cancer include carcinoma, sarcoma, leukemia, lymphoma and melanoma and central nervous system cancers. A tumor is a mass of tissue and it is divided into benign tumors, which are not cancerous and malignant tumors, which are cancerous. The protein which exists in many cancer cells, also known as epidermal growth factor receptor, is not very much produced by healthy cells.

The use of gold nanoparticles to the cancer cells and hitting them with a laser was proved to be a very good method in fighting this disease. A lot of scientists from the whole world tried to find a better way to kill the cancer cells and to prevent them from multiplying by using gold nanoparticles, because they can be activated by infrared lasers and they can be heated very fast.

Another treatment used for cancer is the chemotherapy and the radiotherapy, but it was recently proved that this procedure does not have the desired effect, because the drugs that were administered to remove the disease could not reach the tumor.

The use of gold nanoparticles are suited to detect toxins and pathogens, so that lasers that react with these particles could be used to destroy cancer cells. Persons who discover cancer at the early stage have more chances of recovery from those who are at terminal stage. Colloidal gold is another method for curing cancer and it has been used from the ancient times. It has the ability to reduce the pain intensity for the patients who are suffering from cancer.

Gold has been used in the treatment of cancer for many years and this is a truth that not many people knew about. In the future and even in present, the cancer treatment may be strongly dependent on the use of pure gold or of mixed gold, so that this chemical element could be the most precious of all metals.
